The village of Montemonaco, located at 998 m. is an extraordinary natural balcony on the Sibillini Mountains, important mountain range of the central Apennines, with many peaks above 2000 m. high. Since the Middle Ages these mountains have been synonymous with a magical place; since the thirteenth century it has been a destination for knights, magicians and necromancers from all over Europe who ventured in search of the cave of the Sibilla. It is in this village, considered by many as the starting point of these explorations, that the secrets and legends of the Sibillini Mountains are kept.
